THE ASCENT | Climbing Figures Sculpture

There is a moment in every climb where the summit is close enough to see and far enough to doubt.

That moment is the entire subject of this piece.

The Ascent captures two abstract figures on a vertical rock face - one already at the top, body weight committed backward, arm reaching down. The other still climbing, one hand gripping the rock, the other extended upward. The gap between those two hands is where the sculpture lives. Everything else is context.

At 58cm tall the piece has genuine vertical presence. It does not sit quietly on a shelf. It draws the eye upward - which is, of course, the point. The rough-textured rock face runs the full height of the composition, mounted on a slim black metal stem rising from a rectangular marble-effect base. The base is 14.5cm wide and 12cm deep - the footprint of a hardcover book.

It belongs in an office. On a boardroom credenza. On a home desk. In an entryway. Anywhere the walls are meant to say something about how the people inside them think.

This is not motivational art. It is a sculptural study of a specific human gesture - the extended hand, the moment of commitment before the grip is made, the weight transferred between two people on a vertical surface - rendered in resin with the gravity and permanence of cast bronze.

It is the piece people stop in front of and do not immediately say anything.

THE VARIANTS

GOLDEN SUMMIT 

Two figures in polished warm gold finish against a rough black rock face. Maximum contrast. The gold catches light from every angle — the figures read immediately against the dark rock, the reaching gesture visible from across the room. Black marble-effect base grounds the piece with formal weight.

For contemporary interiors, dark-toned studies, offices with black and gold accent schemes, and spaces where the sculpture needs to announce itself from a distance.

OBSIDIAN ASCENT 

Two figures in dark oxidized bronze finish against a white and grey rock face. The contrast is reversed — light ground, dark figures. The composition reads with the quieter authority of aged metal against raw stone. More monastic. More considered.
