The object reproduces the baffle construction of a quilted down jacket at desk scale. Horizontal channels wrap the body of the holder, each one puffed between seam lines, with the compression at the stitch points modelled into the form rather than printed on as surface texture. The collar rolls open at the top, and the resulting opening is the aperture that holds pens.
Printing rather than moulding is what allows the baffle undercuts to hold their depth. The polished finish keeps the ridges reading as fabric under directional light instead of flattening into a single tone. Wall thickness runs consistent throughout, so the piece stays light enough to move one-handed across a desk while remaining stable when loaded.
