Cast resin. 26 cm H. Two finishes: White and Black. Semi-handmade surface work. Freestanding, no assembly required.
The subject is a pair of suited figures holding one another, helmets sealed and faces hidden. The pressure suit does the work a portrait normally would: with no features visible, the whole reading of the piece falls to posture and mass. Two shapes lean into each other and resolve as one silhouette.
Semi-handmade construction means the form is cast and then finished by hand, so detail across the suits and helmets is cleaned individually rather than left as it came out of the mold. In White the surface reads matte and chalk-like, flattening shadow and holding the two figures as a single volume. In Black the same modeling reads as outline, with detail surfacing only where light catches a raised edge.
