The lamp runs on its own battery rather than a wall cord. That removes the constraint of placing it near an outlet, so it can sit on a shelf, a bedside table, or a dining surface and move between them. Draw sits between 0 and 5 watts. A single touch point handles on and off with no switch or dial on the cord.
The shade angles down, concentrating light on the surface below rather than across the room. The acrylic diffuser sits between the LED and the opening, softening the output so the source does not read as a hard bright point when viewed from a seated position. Color runs across the full shade and stem in a flat finish.
